Northwest Indiana Regional Development Corporation

U. S. Small Business Administration certified to administer SBA 504 loan program, including low-interest fixed rate loans with terms of 10 or 20 years. They partner with local financial institutions to provide 90% financing to existing businesses for acquisition, renovation, or expansion of plants and equipment (50% financing provided by bank and 40% financed through the RDC at rates below that those typically offered by lending institutions). The business would be responsible for the remaining 10% of the project cost.

Indiana Community Business Credit Corporation

A privately owned company that manages a pool of risk capital provided by Indiana banks (currently 30). One of the 30 banks must be a primary lender with at least a 50% exposure. ICBCC takes a subordinate collateral position. ICBCC participates in projects that need at least $200,000 (up to $750,000) in new financing. The project funding can be used for any legitimate business purpose, including working capital.

Indiana Development Finance Authority Guaranty Programs

Guarantees a portion of bank loans awarded to manufacturers, with a maximum guaranty of $2 million. Also matches loan fees to small businesses through the Capital Access Program, involving over 100 banks. This organization also issues tax-exempt bonds for up to $10 million for industrial-development projects, and offers credit enhancements to Indiana lenders to make loans to businesses.
